CRITTENDEN CO. SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

CASE FILE #93-05-31-282_______________________PAGE # 1

VICTIM MOTTON WYNN______________________DATE 06/01/93

OFFENSE HOMICIDE__________________________SUSPECT

On 06-01-93 at approx. 2:00 PM, Chief Inv. R.D. Clay and myself returned to the Motton Wynn residence south of Lehi to complete our investigation of the crime scene.

During our investigation, we removed from the scene a telephone base, handset and cord.  The phone appeared to have been jerked from the cord as the plastic connector was still in the hone base and the cord was showing strands of wire on the end.

Also removed was a nearly new ball cap, a home-made whip, and a ball-joint removal tool.  The whip was made from some type of industrial belting, approx. 3’ by 2:” and had been split on the end to a depth of about 2 1/2 to 3 inches.  The whip was bolted to a home-made wooden handle aboy 12-14 inches long.  These items were removed from the couch located beside the front door.

Measurements of the rooms of the house were taken by Inv. Clay and a rough layout of the furniture was taken by Inv. Brockwell.

A more thorough investigation of the house was undertaken.  Recovered from the front bedroom of the house, found under the mattress on he bed located on the east side of the room, were two ladies watches and some costume jewelry.  These items have been removed to the Sheriff’s Dept. for safe keeping.

No other items of value were found during the search.

During our investigation, Mr. Ralph Carlson, one of the Carlson Bros. Planting Co. firm, stopped by.  During our conversation, Mr. Carlson mentioned that one of his employees stated that he had seen Wynn alive on Monday.  At this time we cannot put much faith in this statement.

Mr. Carlson also said that another of his employees came by to visit Wynn almost every day.  Otha Lee Johnson (?) is the name of that employee.  Will be contacted for an interview.

When we left the residence, we re-sealed the building until we are able to determine the legal next of kin.
