CRITTENDEN CO. SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
CASE
FILE #93-05-31-282_______________________PAGE # 1
VICTIM
MOTEN WYNN________________________DATE 06/16/93
OFFENSE
HOMICIDE__________________________SUSPECT ANTHONY W. GRIFFIN
During
my phone conversation with Sgt. Parr, Clarksville PD, I requested that he ask
Anthony Griffin what he had done with the car belonging to the victim. Sgt. Parr said that Griffin says he sold the
car to a junk yard in Nashville. Griffin
told them that he didn’t know the name of the junk yard but gave the
Clarksville investigators a detailed description of how to find the yard.
I
contacted Nashville, TN PD, Homicide Bureau and was
placed in contact with Det. Fowler. I
requested that Nashville PD send a patrol car to the location described by the
suspect Griffin, in an attempt to locate the victim’s car. Det. Fowler was given the description, color,
tag and VIN of the car belonging to the victim, Moten Wynn.
At
approximately 3:30/3:45 PM, 06-14-93, Fowler called back and said that the
patrol unit had located the vehicle. See
attached report from Nashville PD patrol officer Todd Leach, #65307, 04-14-93.
Det.
Fowler asked if I would like to have one of their crime
scene teams check the vehicle for evidence and I told Fowler I would appreciate
it if they could.
Upon
contact with Det. Fowler in Nashvill on 06-14-93, I learned that when the crime
scene taem arrived at the junk yard, a major thunder storm came
thorugh Nashville and they were unable to get any latents off the outside. Officer J.R. Malone, Nashville PD, reported
that at 0315 hours 06-15-93, he returned to the junk yard and processed the
interior of the victim’s car with negative results. See attached report from Officer J.R. Malone,
#44854, Nashville Police Dept. The team
also took photos which they will mail to this department.
Det.
Fowler and I went to the Nashville PD Impound Lot to examine the victim’s
vehicle. I observed the victim’s AR
license still on the vehicle. When I
looked at the interior of the car I found an empty cigarette pack, which was
for the BASIC brand of cicarettes. This
was the brand found at the crime scene at Lehi.
The package had been processed but no latents were recovered from
it. I took photos of the victim’s car at
the Impound Lot.
Disposition
of the Wynn vehicle will be discussed with the DPA.
